How to Map a Domain from Hostinger

This how-to guide assumes you already have a domain registered with Hostinger. If not, go ahead and purchase your domain name from Hostinger here.

Step 1

After logging into your account, click on the Domains link.

Step 2

Under My Domains, click on the domain name you want to map to Hashnode (example: zekeatchan.com).

Step 3

Search for the following 3 existing records.

Step 4

Make the following 3 changes:

Edit Type CNAME with Name www and Content yourdomain.com. Change the Target to hashnode.network, TTL to 60 and click update.
Next, delete the record Type AAAA and Name @. Do note: there should only be one existing record with Type AAAA. This record contains the nameserver values Hostinger provides and you will not need it to map your domain to Hashnode.
Finally, edit the record Type A with Name @ and Content 151.106.116.130. Change Points to to 76.76.21.21, set TTL to 60 and click update.

Step 5

Wait up to 48 hours for your domain's DNS record to be updated in all locations across the Internet. Once your domain is updated, Hashnode will automatically provide an SSL certificate for you when you visit your domain for the first time.

In the case of this website, the entire update process took less than an hour.
